E’ morto all’età di 88 anni Thomas Meehan. Autore di musical e di sceneggiature, ha ottenuto grande successo soprattitto con il libretto di "Annie" e "The Producers". Ma si devono a lui anche I Remember Mama (1979), Ain’t Broadway Grand (1993), Hairspray (2002), Bombay Dreams (2004), Young Frankenstein (2007), Cry Baby (2008), Elf (2010), Chaplin (2012) e Rocky (2014).. Vinse il Tony per Annie, The Producers e Hairspray.
